Louis Lee II

Louis Lee

President & Lead Instructor
🎓 B.M. Jazz Studies, USC
🎓 Master’s Degree in the Science of Education, USC
🏆 Ernie Freeman Scholar
📍 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Louis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and developed a love and devotion to music at a young age. He inspired himself to learn various instruments, including drums, bass guitar, and lead guitar. His family frequently visited the Uptown Theater, which transformed into a venue for performances by artists such as the Temptations, the Jackson Five, James Brown, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and the Delphonics one week each month. Exposure to these remarkable performers at the age of nine ignited his lifelong passion to become an outstanding professional musician.

The drums were the first instruments he learned to play. However, his father required a firm commitment from Louis before purchasing his first drum set. Louis enrolled in a music program at his school and received a letter from his teacher, emphasizing that his relentless dedication, discipline, and commitment would be rewarded. He eventually convinced his father to buy him a complete drum set.

Tragedy struck during Louis’s teenage years when he lost both of his parents within eighteen months of each other. Following this heartbreaking event, he withdrew into himself and became introverted, often practicing music for eight to ten hours a day, seven days a week.

At this venue, I work with many legendary artists of that time, eventually leading to a performance with Billy Paul...

"Eager to pursue a career in music, Louis decided to attend college... He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies and a Master’s Degree in the Science of Education — the first recipient of the prestigious Ernie Freeman Scholarship at USC."

Eager to pursue a career in music, Louis decided to attend college. He enrolled at Los Angeles City College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. He then transferred to the University of Southern California, where he received the Ernie Freeman Scholarship — a prestigious full academic scholarship, of which he was the first recipient at USC. Louis graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies and a Master’s Degree in the Science of Education.

With his academic training and professional experiences, including a Master's Degree in the Science of Education from USC, Louis has channeled his passion for music into various roles. He developed a cultural arts program for students at multiple sites within the Inglewood Unified School District and is an active performer in Las Vegas and other cities, often involved in social events. Over the years, he has served as the CEO/President of the Eubanks Conservatory of Music and Arts (ECMA), where he has expanded his mission to introduce music, dance, drama, and all forms of the arts to students. ECMA is currently working with several Unified School Districts in Los Angeles and surrounding communities.
